Question of Fact In civil law, the level of truth or falsity must be determined by the jury or judge to decide the case.
Question of Law In civil law, this is an issue that specifically with the law itself and how to apply it to other facts in the case.
Quotient Verdict An illegal procedure where the award of compensation set by a jury in a lawsuit, each juror writing down an opinion of what the appropriate amount should be. Then the amounts are totalled and divided by the number of jurors to reach an average figure for the award.
