Cartersville, GA (November 18, 2019) – On Friday around 11:50 p.m., the Georgia State Patrol investigated a fatal pedestrian accident on GA-20 in Cartersville.
Police claim that the accident occurred when a driver was traveling in their Toyota in the left lane of the highway. A 53-year-old female pedestrian was walking eastbound. The driver claimed that she did not see the pedestrian but heard the impact.
The driver and witnesses said that the pedestrian was struck by the front of the Toyota.
Police claim that the pedestrian was leaving her job at Waffle House when the collision occurred. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
