Jonesboro, GA (February 14, 2020) – On Tuesday, police confirmed that a woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in a pedestrian accident in Jonesboro. Police have since identified the woman who lost her life in the accident.
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that a 23-year-old woman from Riverdale was killed after being struck by a 15-year-old man from Griffin who was traveling northbound on Tara Boulevard at the time.
Officials stated that the woman was traveling northbound when she was struck by the vehicle, which then fled the scene of the accident.
The driver allegedly saw the pedestrian and tried to swerve out of the way but was unable to do so. The driver then fled the scene but came back.
The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
