Albany, GA (May 27, 2020) – Early this morning, a fatal pedestrian accident took place on US-82 in Albany in front of the Old Cooper Tire warehouse.
Responders were dispatched to the scene of the collision around 6 a.m. An unidentified man was walking on the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a semi-truck.
Dougherty County law enforcement officials, fire crews, and paramedics responded to the scene of the accident. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time after the accident.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
