Albany, GA (June 5, 2020) – Last afternoon, June 4, a child was struck and seriously injured in a bicycle accident in Albany. Further information has been released regarding the accident.
Police confirmed that the 4-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on West Waddell Avenue in the alleyway. She was suddenly struck by a truck.
The driver of the truck was headed south in a Ford F-150 and was unable to stop in time after seeing the bicyclist. The driver initially fled the scene of the accident but later returned to speak with the police.
The 4-year-old was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her condition is not known at this time.
Charges are pending and the investigation remains ongoing.
