Allentown, PA (September 16, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal two-vehicle car accident at an Allentown intersection on Friday, September 16.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened in the evening hours at the intersection of American Parkway and North Irving Street. Police confirmed that a vehicle was traveling in the area when it went through the intersection and slammed into another vehicle at the intersection. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage as a result of the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A passenger in the backseat of one of the vehicles, identified as 35-year-old Sara Baskerville, was tragically pronounced dead while at a local hospital. Her unborn baby also passed away as a result.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for approximately five hours.

No further details have been released at this time. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
