Atlanta, GA (September 30, 2020) – Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night, September 29, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Atlanta.
Police confirmed that a 56-year-old man was traveling at 200 Colonial Homes Drive when he suddenly lost control of his vehicle and struck two parked cars before his vehicle launched over the sidewalk and struck a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as a local man who was walking his dog in the area. When police arrived at the scene, the pedestrian was already pronounced dead.
Investigators have since determined that the driver may have had a medical episode before the accident took place. He was taken to the hospital but received charges of leaving the roadway and homicide by vehicle.
Police blocked off a portion of the roadway for an extended period of time following the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
