Atlanta, GA (August 14, 2020) – Early this morning, authorities were dispatched to the scene of a truck accident in Atlanta.
Atlanta Police responded to the scene of the accident, where they discovered that a tractor-trailer and at least one passenger vehicle collided with one another in the southbound lanes of the Downtown Connector. The accident happened past the area of Williams Street and led to severe damages in the passenger vehicle involved.
Fire crews and paramedics were present at the scene of the collision. Fire crews extricated one or more victims from the truck and EMS crews assisted those with injuries. It is not yet known how many were taken to the hospital with injuries and the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extensive period of time due to debris and vehicles. Police urged those in the area to use Northside Drive as an alternate route.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
