Atlanta, GA (March 26, 2019) – Police reported that a driver could be facing charges after a fatal crash that took place on Perry Boulevard. The victim has since been identified by police.
The victim has been identified as a 42-year-old man who lost his life when the driver of a Lyft vehicle ran a red light on Perry Boulevard near Johnson Road. The victim was a father and, as others say, a “very good friend.”
The victim allegedly used the Lyft app on Thursday night. Around 9:30 p.m. on his way home, the driver ran a red light, causing a semi-truck to crash into the car. He immediately passed away at the scene.
The Lyft driver was injured and taken to the hospital. He was soon identified as a 29-year-old male, who now has charges pending against him.
Lyft has since been contacted about the accident. At this time, the investigation into the matter continues.
We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of the victim whose life was taken prematurely in this horrific accident. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
