Ball Ground, GA (September 16, 2020) – On Wednesday morning, September 16, a man was killed in a fatal two-vehicle crash on a highway in Ball Ground.
Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office deputies confirmed that the accident took place around 7 a.m. The accident took place when a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was rear-ended by a Kia Sportage. Both drivers continued southbound and lost control, rolling onto their sides.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 61-year-old man from Jasper, was thrown from his vehicle and later died as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the Kia was identified as a 24-year-old woman from Forest Park. She and her passenger, identified as a 23-year-old from Riverdale, were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Witnesses confirmed that the driver of the Kia was driving erratically prior to the accident. However, police have not yet brought charges.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
