Bartow County, GA (October 26, 2020) – Around 11 p.m. on Monday night, October 26, a train accident involving a deputy took place in Bartow County.
The accident occurred in an unidentified area of Bartow County when a deputy was crossing the train tracks in a cruiser. For reasons that are not yet known, a train approached the area and collided with the cruiser. The vehicle was responding to a call at the time of the accident.
The vehicle was being operated by a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The vehicle was horrifically damaged as a result of the accident. The deputy was taken to the hospital and treated, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The roadway was closed in the area of the accident for some time.
