Calhoun, GA (September 17, 2020) – Around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, a two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred in Calhoun.
Gordon County officials confirmed that the collision happened on GA-53 in front of the Georgia Northwestern Technical College when two vehicles suddenly collided with each other for unknown reasons. Photographs taken at the scene showed both sedans with severe damages. One of the sedans was missing its front bumper and the other had a smashed headlight.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident to help those involved. One or more victims were taken to the hospital, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
