Columbus, GA (November 21, 2020) – Further details were released after one person was killed in a fatal crash in Columbus on Thursday evening, November 19th.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials and LaGrange police, officers responded to the 900 block of Borton Street shortly before 7:00 p.m. Their investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling westbound on Borton Street at a high rate of speed when the 16-year-old juvenile driving the vehicle lost control, resulting in the accident.
Police confirmed that one victim, a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. They were identified as a 17-year-old male.
Two other people were injured in the crash, but it’s unclear if they were in the same vehicle or in a different vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department, and other details on the events leading up to the accident have not been released.

The investigation into the collision is currently ongoing.
