Columbus, GA (June 8, 2019) – 54-year-old Columbus chef Mark Jones is gradually recovering from traumatic injuries inflicted during a deadly car accident in 2018.
According to a local news source, Jones had finished a vacation in Mississippi and was driving back to his home state of Georgia. When he was about eight miles away from his home city of Columbus, near Phenix City, AL, he plowed into the rear of an 18-wheeler semi-truck along the highway. As a result of the accident, Jones sustained traumatic injuries to his spinal cord, and doctors predicted he would never walk again.
Police have not revealed the identity of the truck driver or if this individual sustained injuries in the crash and have not disclosed if any other people were involved.
Based on the updated report, Jones is making a speedy recovery.
Columbus residents and some of his closest friends have raised $100,000 to pay his medical bills.
