Dalton, GA (August 13, 2020) – This afternoon, authorities responded to the scene of a car accident with injuries at an intersection in Dalton.
Whitfield County officials confirmed that the crash took place at the intersection of GA-41 and Cross Plains Boulevard when two vehicles collided. One of the vehicles, identified only as a red sedan, immediately overturned as a result of the collision. The vehicles involved were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Numerous emergency responders were present at the scene. Fire crews extricated those trapped inside the overturned vehicle and paramedics rushed injured victims to the hospital. The number of people injured is not yet known. However, one or more victims received serious injuries as a result.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
