Duluth, GA – Car Accident on I-85 Near Boggs Rd Leads to Injuries
Duluth, GA (July 20, 2021) – At 10:29 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, July 20, a car accident with injuries occurred in Duluth.
According to officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Boggs Road in Gwinnett County. Several vehicles were traveling on the highway when one or more lost control, causing them to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result. The damaged vehicles had to be towed away from the scene to clear the road.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a short period of time as police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Satellite Boulevard as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
