Eatonton, GA (May 23, 2020) – On Thursday, police confirmed that a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on the West Bypass in Eatonton. The victim has since been identified.
The man, who was identified as a local 38-year-old, was walking along the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle. The crash took place around 2 a.m. when a Nissan Altima struck the victim.
The driver remained at the scene of the accident and police confirmed that there are currently no charges pending against them.
The pedestrian was immediately treated at the scene by paramedics. He was later taken to the hospital by ambulance and tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
