Good Hope, GA (July 31, 2020) – This afternoon, three people were seriously injured in a car accident on a highway in Good Hope.
Walton County deputies confirmed that the accident took place when a driver lost control of their vehicle, crashing on GA-186 in the area of the Oconee County line.
Two of the patients were critically injured and had to be transported to the hospital by medical helicopter. Another victim was taken by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. A fourth person was also taken to the hospital but his injuries were minor in nature.
Both lanes of the highway were closed down in the area until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
