Griffin, GA (October 29, 2020) – Around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, October 27, a fire chief was injured in a bicycle accident in an unidentified area of Griffin.
Police confirmed that the City of Griffin Fire Chief was riding his bicycle in an unidentified area of the city when he was struck by a passenger vehicle. Police have not confirmed if the driver saw him before the accident or if they remained at the scene.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to assist the injured victim. He was immediately taken to Atlanta Medical Center with multiple injuries. His injuries were severe but there has been no update on his condition other than that he is in stable condition.
The roadway was closed in the area of the accident until the police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
