Grovetown, GA (September 30, 2020) – Around 8 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, September 29, a serious car crash took place on a highway in Grovetown.
The accident, according to officials, took place around the same area where two deputies were killed in a crash this week. The accident occurred on Carl Sanders Highway around the area of Lewiston Road in the eastbound lanes of traffic.
Authorities confirmed that the crash took place when an eastbound vehicle was struck behind by another vehicle, causing it to veer over the guardrail. The vehicle landed in the grassy median and led to extensive damages.
Two female victims were injured as a result of the accident. One suffered a back and shoulder injury while the other was hospitalized with various minor injuries.
The accident led to extensive traffic in the area but police were able to fully clear the scene by 9:30 a.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
