Gwinnett County, GA – Police Investigating Injury Car Crash on I-85 at Jimmy Carter Blvd

Gwinnett County, GA (February 24, 2021) – Officers with the Gwinnett County Police Department say that injuries resulted from a car crash that took place on Interstate 85 on Wednesday morning.

According to information released by Gwinnett County authorities, the accident took place around 6:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-85, also known as the GA 140, around the Jimmy Carter Boulevard exit. The accident involved at least two vehicles and led to property damage and injuries.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. It appears that the injured victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though updates on their conditions have not been provided.

The left lanes of traffic were blocked for at least two hours following the crash. No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
