LaGrange, GA (June 4, 2020) – Around 12:20 p.m. on Monday, a fatal head-on collision involving a dump truck took place on a highway in LaGrange.
Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident, where they discovered that a 52-year-old man was driving his Chevrolet Silverado when his vehicle collided with a Mack dump truck.
The driver of the dump truck was identified as a 68-year-old man from Thomaston. He tried to avoid striking the Chevrolet but was unable to do so.
The 52-year-old man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The driver of the Mack was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Police continue their investigation into the collision.
