Lithia Springs, GA (May 17, 2021) – At 5:24 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, May 16, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Lithia Springs.

According to Douglas County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Lee Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. This led to severe damages to the involved vehicles.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.

Two right lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
