Macon, GA – Pedestrian Accident Involving Train Near Clinton St

Macon, GA (October 21, 2020) – Around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, a pedestrian accident involving a train occurred in Macon.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place on the railroad tracks around the area of Clinton Street and Main Street. A 38-year-old was walking on the tracks when, for unknown reasons, they were struck by a passing train.

The pedestrian was immediately transported to Medical Center Navicent Health. He has since been listed in critical condition but is making progress in his recovery.

Part of the tracks was closed down for an extended period of time while police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the accident is currently ongoing.
