Metter, GA (October 29, 2020) – On Wednesday night, October 28, a truck accident took place on a highway in Metter.
According to the Candler County Sheriff’s Office, the truck accident took place in the westbound lanes of I-16. Police confirmed that three vehicles, one of which was an 18-wheeler, collided for reasons that are not yet known. The accident caused debris to line the roads for several hours and caused extensive damages to the vehicles involved.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. Several parties were injured but, luckily, all of the parties are expected to recover.
The roadway was closed down in the area for five hours as crews worked to clear the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
