Rossville, GA (August 14, 2020) – This afternoon, authorities were dispatched to the scene of a car accident with injuries at a Rossville intersection.
Catoosa County officials responded to the scene of the collision immediately, which happened at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Schmitt Road. Police confirmed that multiple vehicles collided for reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles, identified as a white Chrysler passenger vehicle, was badly damaged on its front end. Debris littered the roadway in the area.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to assist at the scene of the accident. They extricated one or more victims from a vehicle and the victims were immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the extent of the injuries is not yet known.
The roadway was closed down in multiple lanes throughout the afternoon hours until police were able to fully clear the roadway.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
