Sandy Springs, GA (September 17, 2020) – Around 7 a.m. this morning, September 17, a car accident with injuries occurred on a major highway in Sandy Springs.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of Turner McDonald Parkway around the area of Northridge Road when multiple vehicles collided with one another for unknown reasons. The accident caused a wide array of damages to the vehicles involved.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the accident. They assisted those with injuries. Though the extent of the injuries is not yet known, one or more victims were taken to the hospital.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes were closed for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 9 for some time before lanes were opened.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
