Savannah, GA – Ambulance Accident at Abercorn St and DeRenne Ave

Savannah, GA (October 6, 2020) – On Tuesday afternoon, October 6, an ambulance accident occurred at an intersection in Savannah.

The accident, according to authorities, took place at the intersection of Abercorn Street and DeRenne Avenue. Police confirmed that a Medtrust ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital who was in critical condition. The ambulance was involved in a collision with one or more other vehicles after pulling into the intersection.

Due to the severity of the accident, the patient had to be transported to the hospital by another ambulance crew. The ambulance was badly damaged as a result of the accident.

One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident, though the conditions of those involved are not yet known.

Drivers were urged to seek an alternate route for some time until police cleared the scene.
