Stone Mountain, GA (May 22, 2020) – Early this morning around 8 a.m., police responded to a serious car crash at a Stone Mountain intersection.
According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Rays Road when two or more vehicles collided with one another.
Though details are limited, one of the involved vehicles was a black sedan that obtained severe damages due to the collision. The vehicle also struck a fire hydrant and crashed off the side of the road.
Fire crews had to extricate one or more parties from the vehicle. The injured victims were hospitalized in serious condition but it is not known how many were sent to the hospital at this time.
All lanes of traffic were blocked at the intersection until police were able to clear debris from the roadway.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
