Summerville, GA (December 4, 2019) – On Tuesday in Summerville, Chattooga County, a woman was arrested following a DUI collision with injuries on GA-114.
The accident took place when a woman was driving drunk and suddenly slammed into the rear of another vehicle, injuring all of the occupants on various levels. The Georgia State Patrol has been working on its investigation.
According to preliminary reports, a Nissan Altima was traveling north and started to turn left at Pine Hill Drive. A Ford Fusion suddenly collided forcefully with the rear-end of the vehicle, causing the Altima to fly up over an embankment and into a pole. Police claim that the driver of the Fusion never attempted to brake.
All of the occupants inside the Altima were injured and taken to a local Rome hospital. The driver of the Fusion was also hospitalized and determined to be driving drunk at the time. She is now facing several DUI-related charges.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
