Wildwood, GA (July 8, 2020) – Around 4 p.m. yesterday, July 7, a deputy and multiple other victims were injured in a truck accident involving numerous vehicles in Wildwood.
The accident took place on I-24 after Dade County deputies were called to assist a driver who experienced two flat tires on their vehicle.
Deputies immediately started to assist the motorist, which is when a passenger vehicle ran into a tractor-trailer and caused the vehicle to lose control. The passenger vehicle then slammed into a patrol car and then a second patrol car.
One of the deputies was sitting inside his cruiser when the accident took place. One deputy and three other individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulance with injuries. Luckily, all of the victims are expected to recover.
The investigation into the accident remains ongoing at this time.
