Savannah, GA (February 9, 2020) – Chatham County Police responded to the scene of a fatal car crash when a vehicle ran off the road and into Lake Mayer in Savannah.
The call came in around 11 a.m. this morning at the intersection of Montgomery Road and Truman Parkway, where a vehicle drove off the road and became fully submerged in the lake.
Two people from the vehicle were allegedly pulled from the lake and transported to the hospital. It has been determined that both have since tragically passed away.
The road was reopened to traffic within hours. Police continue to investigate the collision.
