Mableton, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Nash Circle Intersection

Cumming, GA – 2 Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on GA-400

Cumming, GA (November 27, 2019) – Around 2:07 a.m. on Friday morning, two people were killed in a fatal pedestrian crash near the intersection of GA-400 and Settingdown Road.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office initially received a 911 call after a vehicle struck the two pedestrians near the area of the intersection.

Police found through their investigation that a GMC Sonoma driven by a 52-year-old man was traveling north in the left lane of the highway when it struck the two pedestrians. Both the man and woman were allegedly on the roadway as they pulled their vehicle over into the emergency lane so that they could look for a lost item on the roadway.

The driver claimed that the conditions were dark and that is why they could not see the pedestrians. The driver initially swerved to avoid the first pedestrian but then struck the second in doing so.

The two were identified as a 44-year-old man from Dawsonville and a 25-year-old woman from Dahlonega. The two incurred fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the families of the deceased victims at this time.
