Midway, GA (February 23, 2020) – Six people, three of whom were children, were killed in an early morning wreck along Interstate 95 in MIdway on Sunday, February 23rd.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers with the Georgia Highway Patrol began receiving reports about a white Lexus driving the wrong way in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95.
Deputies were on their way to apprehend the errant driver when the collision occurred.
A local news source reported that deputies arrived on the scene to discover that a head-on collision had taken place between a Lexus SUV, driven by a 77-year-old male, and another SUV, occupied by a family of five from Portsmouth, Virginia: a mom, dad, and their three children whose ages ranged from 4 to 14.
