The city, for the large part, offers some very catchy historical attractions, beautiful parks, and a glowing riverfront area. The city also hosts a number of annual events that turn its streets into one big party, year after year.

Augusta Brunch Festival

Hosted by the beautiful Augusta Common in the downtown area, the Brunch Festival is one of the most anticipated family events in the city. The festival features over half a dozen top restaurants serving the best brunch delicacies. The event also features a beer garden, vendors, adult games, and beer-drinking competitions among other things. Despite not being a family-friendly event, it is one of those festivals you cannot afford to miss.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Celebration

Also hosted by the Augusta Common, this annual Irish festival offers the ultimate family fun in the month of March. The festival is part of an even bigger cultural/religious celebration that takes place in different parts of the world in memory of Saint Patrick. Augusta’s version of the event features a parade, live music, floats, vendors, kids’ activities and tasty cuisines including some authentic Irish delicacies.

Masters Golf Tournament

Being home to the exclusive Augusta National Golf Club, the city of Augusta hosts the Masters Golf Tournament every year. Considered to be one of the world’s most prestigious golf tournaments, the event attracts golf elites from all over the globe. Some of the legendary golfers who have had the chance to play at this tournament include Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, and Gary Player.

Thunder Over Augusta

This is a giant party organized by the Central Savannah River Area community to celebrate and appreciate the United States Armed Forces-both past and present. Some of the things you can expect at the event include live demonstrations, entertainment, inflatables, and one of the greatest fireworks show in the South.

Other must-attend annual events in the city include Night at the Museum, Phinizy Birding Festival, the Christmas Parade & Light Up Spectacular, the Augusta Canal Festival, the Hispanic Festival, and the Greek Festival.
