Local Office Brings Their Support To Big Chef-Little Chef Event

The Savannah office of Kenneth S. Nugent, attorneys at law, came out to support the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club at their inaugural, Big Chef—Little Chef culinary event, which was held on February 9th at the Perry Lane Hotel, in downtown Savannah.

The Big Chef —Little Chef fundraiser gave supporters a chance to meet the young aspiring chefs who attend the Boys and Girls Club- Savannah. Each of the five Big Chefs were paired with Little Chefs from the Frank Callen club. The renowned local chefs and their apprentices created signature appetizers, which were then voted on by the attendees for the new event’s People’s Choice Award.

Chefs included Mashama Bailey of The Grey, Brian Fiasconaro of Husk, Todd Harris of Cooking With Todd, Dan Herget of The Emporium, and Ricky Mechelke of Ukiyo.

Ken Nugent was not only a sponsor of the event but also attended the fun-filled evening that included culinary tastings, a delicious dinner and live entertainment along with the friendly competition. Participants from the Savannah office included Ally Page, Amanda M. Alvarez, Angela Gore, Heather L. Shelton, James J. Kasprzycki, Jessica Lugo, Lisa M. McLaughlin, Mandi Smith, Nicole E. Swift, Nicole Starnes, and Tara M. Carbaugh.

“I was proud to be a Sous Chef sponsor for the first Big Chef—Little Chef event for the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club of Savannah, Nugent said. “I am dedicated to the communities where our offices are located and happy to come out to support this worthy event along with my team members in Savannah.”

Nugent was able to be front and center during the competition, which was won by Chef Dan Herget of The Emporium/Perry Lane Hotel and his three Little Chefs from the club.

The mission of the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club of Savanah is to “enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” The success of Big Chef—Little Chef managed to reach that goal.
