Atlanta, GA – Car Crash on The Perimeter Near Jonesboro Rd
Atlanta, GA (August 28, 2021) – At 12:59 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, August 28, a car crash with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of The Perimeter around the area of Jonesboro Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the crash, a red alert was issued in the area for some time. All lanes of traffic were blocked until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use I-20 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
