Blairsville, GA (May 3, 2021) – On Sunday morning, May 2, two people were killed in a fatal fire in a home in Blairsville.

According to officials, the incident happened in a home on Pauline Lane. According to fire crews, gas caused the home to explode into a ball of flames. The explosion was so extensive that it destroyed the entire home and other houses in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. A 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman inside the home were pronounced dead at the scene due to extensive injuries.

The area was blocked for an extended period of time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
