Dublin, GA – Serious Injuries Reported in Tractor-Trailer Crash on I-16
Dublin, GA (September 14, 2021) – On Tuesday, September 14, a tractor-trailer crash occurred on a major highway in Dublin.
According to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-16 around the area of mile marker 34. A tractor-trailer and a sedan were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. Due to the forcefulness of the collision, both vehicles caught on fire. Police have since stated that the driver of the sedan was traveling at a low speed when the tractor-trailer rear-ended her vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the sedan and the driver of the tractor-trailer were both injured in the collision. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was entirely blocked in the area for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
