Juliette, GA (June 9, 2021) – At 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 9, a firefighter was injured in a house fire in Juliette.

According to Monroe County officials, the fire took place at a house on 53 Benton Road. When crews arrived at the ranch home, they found out that the right side of the house was fully engulfed in flames. Approximately 17 firefighters were present at the scene.

Eight people were inside the home when it caught on fire. The parties were identified as two adults and six children, all of whom made it out safely. One of the firefighters who was putting out the fire was taken to the hospital due to injuries caused by fighting the fire. They are expected to make a full recovery.

The area was blocked for some time as police investigated. Their current investigation remains ongoing at this time.
