Tate, GA (April 9, 2021) – On Friday night, April 9, a head-on collision with injuries occurred at an intersection in Tate.

According to Pickens County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-53 and North Station Street. Two vehicles collided head-on in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. This led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. One of the vehicles was trapped in their vehicle and had to be taken to the hospital by medical helicopter.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
