Columbus, GA – One Killed in Fatal Crash at Buena Vista Rd & Pembrook Dr
Columbus, GA (April 16, 2021) – On Sunday night, one person was killed and another was arrested following a Columbus fatal crash.
According to authorities, the accident took place at the intersection of Buena Vista Road and Pembrook Drive. At the time, an adult male was driving in the area when he ran through an intersection, striking a second vehicle. The male got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
A woman and her husband were in the other vehicle that was struck. The two victims were taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital but the woman was pronounced dead while there.
The man who fled the scene of the accident was caught by police and transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He has since been taken to jail on charges of homicide by vehicle, hit-and-run, and reckless driving.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
