6/8 Tifton, GA – Teen Killed in Fatal Crash at US-82 & Carpenter Rd

Atlanta, GA (April 17, 2021) – Around 11 p.m. on Friday night, April 16, a tractor-trailer accident occurred on a highway in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened on I-285 around the area of the Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. A car attempted to exit the Interstate in the area of the parkway when it lost control, crashing into the back of the tractor-trailer. The vehicle slid underneath the tractor-trailer and became wedged, where it was dragged for yards.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One person was pronounced dead, though police have not said what vehicle the deceased was driving in.

The roadway was blocked for several hours as fire crews put out the fire caused by the collision and cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
