Monroe, GA (April 18, 2021) – Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night, April 17, a pedestrian accident took place at an intersection in Monroe.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Spring Street and North Lumpkin Street. Two pedestrians were crossing the street in the area when they were struck by a vehicle traveling through the area.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help the injured pedestrians. The unidentified parties were both transported to Piedmont Walton for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.

Georgia State Patrol officials continue their investigation into the collision.
