Tennille, GA (May 2, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on Saturday night, May 1, a man was killed in a pedestrian accident in Tennille.

According to Washington County officials, the accident happened at 300 North Main Street. A 38-year-old male pedestrian was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a pickup truck. The driver of the truck remained at the scene.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian male suffered from severe head trauma and was taken to the hospital. He passed away as a result of his injuries this morning, May 2.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
