Augusta, GA (May 4, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, a pedestrian accident led to serious injuries in Augusta.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on the Bobby Jones Expressway. A pedestrian was walking in the area when they were suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with a variety of serious injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
