Homer, GA – Fatal Truck Crash at Yonah Homer Rd & Greasy St
Homer, GA (May 4, 2021) – At 4:20 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, May 3, a fatal truck crash took place at an intersection in Homer.
According to Banks County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Yonah Homer Road and Greasy Street. A pickup truck and a large utility truck were traveling in the area when they collided with each other. The accident led to extensive damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Two women were trapped in the pickup truck and had to be extricated by fire crews. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as a 60-year-old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, a woman in her 40s, was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
