Norcross, GA (May 7, 2021) – At 3:58 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, May 7, a multi-vehicle collision took place on a highway in Norcross.

According to Gwinnett County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Beaver Ruin Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other, which led to extensive damages.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.

Multiple left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area, which led to delays. Police urged those traveling through the area to use Buford Highway as an alternate route.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
