Dahlonega, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Crash on Long Branch Rd
Dahlonega, GA (May 10, 2021) – On Saturday, May 8, a woman was killed in a fatal crash on a roadway in Dahlonega.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Long Branch Road around the area of Sarah Circle. Police confirmed that a 16-year-old female was driving her Toyota RAV4 north on Long Branch when she suddenly crossed into the other lane of traffic. Her vehicle sideswiped a Toyota Sienna being driven by a 40-year-old man from Dallas. The first driver then drove into a Honda CRV head-on.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. A 91-year-old female passenger in the CRV was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Various other individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Charges are pending against the 16-year-old driver at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
