Martinez, GA – Pedestrian Accident with Injuries on Washington Rd
Martinez, GA (May 22, 2021) – At 11:43 p.m. on Friday night, May 21, a pedestrian accident with injuries took place in Martinez.
According to deputies, the accident happened on Washington Road near the area of Cookout. A pedestrian was allegedly crossing the street when they were struck by a passenger vehicle in the area. The driver did not see the pedestrian as they crossed the road.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was injured and rushed to a local hospital. Their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
